Pioneer Tunnel Coal Mine & Steam Train

In Ashland Pennsylvania, in the heart of the anthracite coal region, is the Pioneer Tunnel Coal Mine & Steam Train. The museum offers tours inside the coal mine, but also operates a steam train, a narrow guage 0-4-0 #1 named “Henry Clay”, to demonstrate a different kind of mining – strip mining.

In this video we’ll follow along the Henry Clay on its short journey around the mountain.
