Building Of Custom Models
Saturday, May 15th, 2010Many people like to actually go out to a store and pick out one of those model kits that they like and simply build it and stick it on their shelf but are there many people out there that have all kinds of parts and build them to their liking? Well of course there are and this is what is known as custom model building.
Where Does This Occur?
Well by the looks of things it would seem that a lot of this kind of thing comes from the movie industry and when it comes to making a film you cannot simply use a pre built model kit. If all of the movies actually used the same kind of kits that the public bought we would be seeing a lot of the same models in the films that we sit down to enjoy!
A film company will often get the best people in to do this and they will create perfect scale models from parts from all kinds of different model kits. Helicopters are created with RC helicopters and the same goes for things like RC aircraft. Of course with many of the older films you can actually see that the models are fake but with better technology being put into the making and the filming of scenes with models in them it is very hard to tell nowadays.
Of course on top of this you will see a lot of people that just build up various things for a bit of fun. Some of the best examples that I have seen of people doing this are usually mixed with train sets because having a train set encourages people top be more creative.
There are people that collect much of same thing to build up a collection like the video at the top of the post!
